The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) is pleased to announce the 10 fellows accepted to the Virgin Labfest (VLF) 13 Writing Fellowship Program, which will take place from July 4 to 16, 2017.
They are Geene Sabrina Basilio, Trisha Marie Contreras, Patricia Isabel Lucido, Gerald Manuel, Angelito Nambatac Jr., Lloyd Alcedric Rano Opalec, Anna Bettina Petrasanta, Miko Jan Portes, Manuel Luis Pedro Tinio, and Maria Amparo Warren.
The program is a two-week mentorship program on the study and practice of dramatic writing for the stage. It is part of the CCP’s desire to train young aspiring playwrights. It consists of lectures, script critiquing, writing sessions, and interactions with known playwrights, directors, and selected actors.
The fellows will be mentored by Glenn Sevilla Mas, a multi-award-winning playwright, and will be given access to all Virgin Labfest 13 plays and selected rehearsals as part of their mentorship.
The program will conclude with a staged reading of the fellows’ works that will be directed by actor-writer Dennis Marasigan at the CCP Bulwagang Amado Hernandez on July 16, 2017 at 6 p.m. This culminating program is free of charge and open to the public.
The Virgin Labfest 13 Writing Fellowship Program is a project of the CCP Artist Training Division of the institution’s Arts Education Department.
