The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) emphasized the importance of reliable data in crafting policies that benefit the Filipino people.
“Data is the lens through which we understand our people’s needs, and the map that helps us reach a better future,” said BSP Monetary Board Member (MBM) Rosalia V. De Leon.
De Leon stressed that data enables government to measure progress and “tells us what is working, what is not, and where we must act with greater urgency.”
Throughout October, various statistical activities, such as panel discussions, scientific sessions, and interactive exhibits, were organized by members of the Philippine Statistical System. These events gathered stakeholders from the government, academe, media and private sector.
The activities demonstrated how reliable, accessible, and well-utilized data can drive progress and improve the lives of Filipinos.
The Philippine Statistics Authority recognized the contributions of government agencies, local government units, private organizations, and youth groups in promoting the effective use of statistics.
