HONOR Philippines officially unveiled the HONOR X9d 5G on New Year’s Day—and everybody in local cyberspace took notice.
Touted as the brand’s toughest smartphone yet, the device quickly went viral as top creators like Malupiton, Ser Geybin, Jomar Yee, and KaMangyan Vlogs shared jaw-dropping first looks and reactions across social media.
But HONOR didn’t stop at influencer hype. To prove just how durable the HONOR X9d 5G really is, the brand staged its most ambitious stress test to date—pitting the smartphone against an all-steel Tesla Cybertruck in the explosive HONOR X9d 5G Ultra Defense Challenge, held at WBS Studios in Pasig.
Front and center were HONOR brand ambassadors Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto, who personally witnessed—and took part in—a series of extreme durability trials designed to push the phone to its absolute limits.
The challenge lineup read like a daredevil’s checklist: a high-impact slingshot hit, a dramatic three-meter throw, a precision cornhole shot, a punishing decibel test, and the ultimate showdown—a car-pull runover featuring the Tesla Cybertruck rolling over the HONOR X9d 5G. Each test was crafted to show that this smartphone isn’t just built for daily use, but for real-world extremes.
According to HONOR Philippines Vice President Stephen Cheng, the stunt signals a bold year ahead for the brand. He said the company’s momentum over the past three years has laid the groundwork for pushing boundaries even further, teasing that the Cybertruck showdown is only a preview of what HONOR has planned. The grand launch is scheduled on January 9, competing for media attention with the Black Nazareno of Quiapo.
Fans can join the conversation and catch exclusive teasers and launch updates by visiting HONOR’s official website at hihonor.com and following HONOR Philippines on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
