Potato Corner opens first Taiwan store

Potato Corner (PC), the Philippines’ homegrown global leader in flavored fries, has opened its first store in Taiwan.

In a recent statement, PC, which is part of Shakey’s Pizza Asia Ventures, Inc. (SPAVI), said the branch located at Xinyi District’s Uni-President Department Store in Taipei opened on Aug. 4. Taiwan is the brand’s 16th overseas market, bringing its global store count to 2,345.

The expansion also marks the beginning of PC’s partnership with Taiwan’s Fujin Tree Group, a lifestyle and food and beverage operator with more than a decade of international experience.

“It’s always a proud moment to bring our beloved brand to new international shores. Potato Corner’s debut in Taipei is a milestone, not just for our flavored fries, but for our Group vision of WOW-ing more guests around the world,” said SPAVI president and CEO Vicente Gregorio.

“What also inspires confidence is PC’s proven track record of collaborating with franchisees across the globe to bring this ambition to life. And with the strong support of our partner Fujin Tree, we look forward to strengthening and scaling our presence in Taiwan,” he added.

Fujin Tree Group founder Jay Wu said the partnership aims to grow Potato Corner further in Taiwan, with more stores set to open within the year.

“Our goal is for Potato Corner to become the preferred spot for everyday gatherings and joyful moments,” Wu said.
