100 farmer complete SM Foundation’s farming program

A hundred farmers from Manaoag, Pangasinan completed last July 1, 2025 the SM Foundation’s 14-week Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan (KSK) Farming Program at SM City Urdaneta.

Under the KSK program, the farmers learned modern farming techniques and business skills designed to boost their potential by enhancing their high-value crop yields and increasing their income potential.

The program addresses critical gaps in agricultural knowledge by providing farmers with access to modern farming methods, crop management techniques and market linkage opportunities.

The program is part of the advocacy of SM founder Henry Sy Sr. who believed in empowering host communities through education and skills development. He understood that investing in farmers’ capabilities helps in strengthening food security while providing livelihoods for Filipino families.

Over 30,000 farmers have already graduated from the program, with many now thriving as seasonal suppliers for the SM Group, local markets, and as sellers at the SM Weekend Market. The program is conducted with various social good partners.
