Amazing Diva Armida Zuniega, the rose among the thorns of sportsmen

These are the guys from Cabuyao City, Laguna: Sonny Tapia, Butch Marana, Boy Diamante and Ferdie Medina.

They are the so-called Cabuyao Boys—a name this columnist has just christened them.

They are a bunch of golfers to reckon with.

They aren’t sophomores in the field, though.

As a matter of course, they have been around for some time, although they aren’t given the chance to shine, collectively, that is.

Aside from being sportsmen, they have already established a distinguished camaraderie and friendship.

As professionals, they have proven a lot.

The Cabuyao Boys just enrolled in the Sta. Barbara Dinagyang Mayor’s Cup in Iloilo, and fortunately, got notice in the tourney days before the celebration of the annual festive colorful tradition.

In the playoff, Tapia performed well and romped away with one of the hole-in major prizes, a fifty- one-inch AI TV, an uncommon size of a model.

Playing with flair, pride and dignity, it was, primarily indeed a victory for the bunch.

It called not only for a blow-out but for sustained skills and inspiration.

The Cabuyao Boys painted the town red by partaking in a sumptuous lunch in a restaurant by the sea with Amazing Diva Armida Zuniega who incidentally is singing at Bridges Bistro of Gateway Hotel Iloilo. (Boy Villasanta)
