Balladeer Rafael Centenera to grace 174th birth anniversary of Marcelo H. del Pilar

Asia’s Timeless Diva Dulce was very impressed by the concept of celebrating the 174th birth year of the Filipino freedom fighter Marcelo H. del Pilar, one of the pioneering spirits of freedom of the press during the oppressive colonial rule of Spain over the Philippines in the 18th century.

But Dulce couldn’t make it because she would be in Cebu City on August 30, 2024.

“Ang ganda sana (It’s good),” she quipped.

But it’s not the end of the world yet.

There will be next time, of course.

Dulce’s fellow presenter, though, balladeer Rafael Centenera will be around to sing for the event.

Rafael, one of the leading recording artists of Dyna Records in the 80s made famous the song “Missing.”

Centenera is a trilingual singer in English, Filipino and Spanish.

The special tribute to del Pilar is organized by the Association of Philippine Journalists’ Samahang Plaridel to be held at 8:30 am right at the Del Pilar Monument at the corner of M. H. del Pilar and Quirino Avenue in Malate, Manila. Boy Villasanta
