Billionaires Sia, Caktiong plan for expansion

Double Dragon Properties Corp., a joint venture between billionaires Injap Sia and Tony Tan Caktiong, has issued the third batch of Golden Visas to unit owners at its Hotel 101-Madrid property, marking a significant milestone in the company’s expansion strategy.

This follows the earlier issuance of two batches, demonstrating growing demand for Hotel101 units as a preferred investment option for non-European investors seeking Spanish residency.

The Golden Visa, also known as the Spain Investor Visa, grants residency to non-European Union (EU) citizens who invest in Spanish real estate.

Hotel101-Madrid unit owners must purchase three units, each valued at a minimum of €500,000, to meet the Golden Visa investment criteria. This provides investors with the opportunity to secure Spanish residency while gaining a stake in the profitable Hotel101 project.

Following the successful issuance of the first three batches, Hotel101 Global expects a continuous and accelerated flow of Golden Visa issuances in the coming weeks.

The company has already established its model as both compliant and attractive to Golden Visa applicants, which is expected to result in a surge in unit sales and significant revenue growth.

Unlike traditional real estate investments, Hotel101 units are primarily designed for short-term stays, meaning they do not impact local housing inventories. Additionally, the asset-light model eliminates the need for investors to manage or maintain their properties, offering a hassle-free experience while still allowing for passive income through hotel operations.

Hotel101’s international projects, including developments in Madrid and Niseko Hokkaido, Japan, are expected to generate substantial foreign currency revenues, with projections estimating an influx of approximately $471 million.

It aims to operate one million hotel rooms worldwide by 2050, with 50,000 of those rooms located in the Philippines. This goal will position DoubleDragon as the largest hotel company in the Philippines and one of the top five hotel companies globally.
