The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has extended the deadlines for filing tax returns, paying taxes, and submitting documents in areas battered by tropical cyclones Crising, Dante, and Emong, along with the intensified southwest monsoon or “habagat.”
In a statement released Friday, BIR Commissioner Romeo Lumagui Jr. said taxpayers in the affected areas—including Metro Manila, parts of Northern Luzon, Mimaropa, and Western Visayas—now have until July 31 to fulfill their tax obligations.
“We understand the challenges that come with severe weather conditions. Part of our drive for excellent taxpayer service is listening and adjusting to the realities faced by taxpayers,” Lumagui said. “Stay safe, prioritize your families and loved ones.”
The extension covers individuals and businesses in Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Bicol, and several Visayan provinces such as Iloilo and Negros Occidental. Revenue District Offices and Authorized Agent Banks in these areas will also observe the extended timeline.
The BIR clarified that if the new July 31 deadline falls on a holiday or non-working day, the next working day will automatically become the new due date.
