Dusit hotel brand to ride on Davao’s rapid growth

Dusit International plans to tap the burgeoning economic activity in Davao City with the entry of dusitD2 Davao, an upscale hotel that will cater to Filipino and foreign business travelers. It will be built adjacent to the Dusit Thani Residences, a luxury apartment complex with 168 full-service residence units.

In partnership with Makati City-based Torre Lorenzo Development Corp., Dusit International is set to bring its chain of distinctive and vibrant hotels to Davao City, one of the Philippines’ fastest-developing business hubs. This will be the first dusitD2 hotel in the country.

With prime real-estate locations, and first-class infrastructure and facilities, Davao City is quickly becoming a choice venue for Filipino entrepreneurs, as well as investors from the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.

To complement the amiable business culture in Davao City, dusitD2’s aesthetic will carry a distinctly chic and playful vibe. “Davao is known for its distinctly trans-Asean [Association of Southeast Asian Nations] color, which fits the Dusit International brand image perfectly,” designer Manny Samson said.

“The design inspiration was derived from this principle and delivers a unique, modern, yet, effortlessly timeless look, which is complemented by the color scheme that is concentrated on earthy tones, [set] against a backdrop of reflective and glossy surfaces, creating a harmonious balance between the sophisticated, luxurious atmosphere and rejuvenating, casual comfort,” he added.

The P2-billion luxury serviced residences and hotel are expected to open its doors in 2018. It will be nestled within the Siam 8000 community project, a master-planned community found along Maryknoll Drive in Barangay Pampanga, Davao City.
