Fairs & More Inc. to hold 1st European Motorshow

Fairs & More Inc. (FMI), a subsidiary of the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP), is making a push for European brand cars to get more headway in the country.

FMI will hold an event showcasing European cars, from the most luxurious to the most budget-friendly, at the 1st European Motorshow at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City, which runs from March 11 to 13.

FMI President Gerry Constantino said there is a growing awareness and acceptance among Filipinos of the advantages of owning a European-made car.

“Although cars on the road are still predominantly Japanese, Filipinos are now increasingly looking at European cars and the technology built in them,” Constantino said.

Data from the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. showed that Japanese brands took 77 percent of the new cars sold last year.

According to Constantino, the motorshow will give Filipinos an opportunity to see up close European cars and even drive them.

Among the car brands that will be on display are MAN, Maserati, Mercedes Benz, Mini Cooper, Morris Garage, Morgan, Peugeot, Scania Trucks, Volkswagen, Volvo, and Vespa.

“Aside from the cars, we will also be showcasing European brand merchandise, including automotive parts for a wide variety of vehicles and hardware tools that will fit into a wide range of budgets,” Constantino said.

FMI assists companies in their participation in trade fairs in the country, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

The ECCP, with the EU (European Union)-Philippines Business Network and the Belgian, British, French, German, Italian, Nordic, and Spanish business chambers, are all participating in the event.
