ARQ Builders-Far Eastern University outclassed Wingbe Apartelle & Adbio Medica OPC-Immaculada Concepcion College, 86-65, to retain the title of the Mayor Kirk A. Asis Open invitational basketball tournament at the Lope A. Asis Memorial gymnasium.
Xyrus Torres led the charge for the Tamaraws with 20 points, including four triples.
Patrick Sleat and Janrey Pasaol contributed 16 and 12 points, respectively, for coach Denok Miranda.
The game started tentatively for ARQ Builders-FEU as the Blue Hawks took control in the first quarter.
Cameroonian Landry Sanjo tiopscored for Wingbe & Adbio-ICC with 25 points.
ARQ Builders-FEU earned the championship prize of P300,000.
Wingbe Apartelle & Adbio Medica OPC-ICC, on the other hand, settled for runner-up prize of P200,000.
In the battle for third place, Bustamante Construction-Adamson University Falcons had to overcome a resilient Vincare Pharma-Lyceum of the Philippines University Pirates, 89-82, in overtime.
Adamson University secured the third-place prize of P150,000, while Vincare Pharma-LPU received P100,000.
