We rarely see women action stars in local films nowadays unlike in yesteryears when Celia Fuentes, Virginia, Liza Moreno, Nancy Roman, just to name a few, made waves in their kicking and gun-toting screen adventures.
Although there are pretenders to the throne among the current crop of female stars who try hard to become action queens however in small scenes.
Unlike newcomer Kris Ann Hernandez who concentrates on action roles rendering her martial arts expertise she learned from the Philippine Bruce Lee Vic Tiro.
Kris Ann is a discovery of Vic and she has appeared in movies like “Ransom (The Twist of Deception)” as the lead actress opposite Tony Leyba directed by Tiro.
“Ransom” will be screened at Cignal TV and Sky Cable this November.
Hernandez, when she was ten years old, underwent an acting workshop facilitated by directors Vic and Joey Egana in 2018.
Kris Ann hopes to crack a major breakthrough to mainstream filmmaking. (Boy Villasanta)
