Manila Electric Company (Meralco) recently collaborated with the Manila local government in its wire-clearing operations, boosting the power distributor’s anti-urban blight campaign.
With strong support from the Manila local government unit, Manila Electric Company is gaining headway in its anti-urban blight campaign with wire-clearing operations throughout the city.
Agapito Jose ‘Joe’ Zaldarriaga, Meralco vice president and Corporate Communications head emphasized the campaign was able to gain much traction with the strong cooperation of Manila mayor Francisco ‘Isko Moreno’ Domagoso who stressed the importance of the partnership between the government and private sector.
The anti-blight campaign is part of Meralco’s ongoing urban development efforts, aligning with Manila’s recently issued Executive Order No. 5 that also addresses overloaded poles to prevent fire hazards and other untoward accidents.
Earlier, Mayor Isko reiterated their plea to all pole users to ensure they have the necessary permits before using these Meralco facilities.
Meralco recently intensified its wire-clearing operations along Yuchengco Street in Binondo, Manila, to promote public safety and help ensure a continuous delivery of stable electricity service.
Zaldarriaga reiterated Meralco’s commitment to promote public safety and efficient service. He said, “We will continue to conduct more operations like these with the help of the LGUs to maintain the integrity of our distribution facilities and ensure continuous electricity service for our customers.”
