More NAIA self-check-in, e-gates opened by NNIC

Additional automated gates and self-check-in kiosks at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) have become available to passengers.

A total of seven carriers are now participating at NAIA’s automated passenger processing program.

The New Naia Infra Corp. (NNIC) said additional airlines have completed system integration across Terminals 1, 2 and 3, as part of NAIA’s ongoing airport modernization.

These kiosks allow eligible passengers to check in, print boarding passes, tag luggage, clear initial security screening and board flights through automated lanes.

The kiosks help reduce queuing times and ease congestion at traditional counters.

At Terminal 1, the system is available to international passengers of Philippine Airlines (PAL), excluding Japan and Middle East routes. It is also accessible to Korean nationals and foreign passengers without visa requirements flying with Asiana Airlines.

At Terminal 2, all domestic passengers of PAL, Cebu Pacific and AirAsia may use the automated facilities.

At Terminal 3, the services cover all Cebu Pacific passengers, international travelers flying with AirAsia, foreign passengers without visa requirements on United Airlines and all passengers of Qatar Airways and Air Canada.

“These systems are already operational, and we are seeing more airlines come on board as integration is completed,” NNIC said.

“As participation expands, more passengers will be able to move through check-in, security and boarding more efficiently,” it added.

NNIC said a phased activation of automated bag drop features is also underway.

“The automated processing systems form part of Naia’s broader efforts to improve passenger flow and align airport operations with biometric-enabled standards used at major international hubs across Asia, the Middle East and North America,” the firm said.

NAIA served a record 4.96 million passengers in January 2026, surpassing the previous high of 4.86 million logged in December 2025 by 2.06 percent.

This record-setting January performance followed a record year for NAIA. In 2025, passenger traffic reached an all-time high of 52.02 million.
