Nora Aunor to file misrepresentation case vs unauthorized use of “Bona” footage

Superstar and National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts Nora Aunor has been a veteran fighter in legal battles since her phenomenal rise to stardom.

Many libel cases she had filed against those who seemed to tarnish not only her name as a human person and her professional life as well, many of which she won.

Although there were also instances which she would fail to claim victory but she would just take them as big lessons in life.

At the moment, Nora is contemplating on filing charges of misrepresentation if not illegal use of her audio-visual ownership.

This is about a teaser of her film “Bona” which is being circulated in social media, particularly in YouTube.

“Wala pong pahintulot ‘yon na makagawa sila ng trailer mula sa mga eksena ng pelikula ko. Ni hindi man lang nila ako kinausap (There’s no petmission in making the trailer from the scenes of my movie. They didn’t even talk to me),” confided Aunor in a recent conversation.

“Bina” was produced in 1980 by NV Productions, the outfit owned by the actress.

At the moment, Ate (a term of endearment to an older woman or sister by blood or by affinity) Guy is alreadt garhering pieces of evidence to bring the case to court.

“Bona” was restored in 4k by Ftench production Carlotta Films and Kani Releasing and recently shown at the Cannes Classics section of the 77th Cannes International Film Festival in France.

In her contract with Carlotta Films and Kani Releasing, Nora as the producer of the film has the Asian rights to distribute it in the region.

Meanwhile, “Bona” is scheduled to hit the screens of the Toronto International Film Festival in Canada in September.   Boy Villasanta
