PBA pays tribute to SEAG men’s baseball team champion

THE PBA gave the triumphant men’s baseball team in the last Southeast Asian Games a well-deserved recognition in Game 4 of the Season 50 Philippine Cup finals at the SM Mall of Arena Wednesday night.

Commissioner Willie Marcial, PBA treasurer Atty. Raymond Zorrilla, team governors Robert Non of San Miguel, Jason Webb of Magnolia and Ronad Dulatre of NLEX gratefully welcomed and shook the hands of the Pinoy batters at center-court during the league’s tribute at halftime.

Head coach Orlando Binarao and team captain Romeo “The Assassin” Jasmin, Jr. led the squad, which scored a three-peat in the baseball competition of the 33rd SEAG in Thailand and annexed its fourth crown in five editions overall.

The baseball kingpins were the latest SEAG achievers to get the spotlight during the PBA layoffs.

Asia’s first play-for-play league previously paid tribute to the Gilas Pilipinas Men’s and Women’s teams as well as medalists in other sports such as six-time wushu queen Agatha Wong and five-time boxing gold medalist Eumir Marcial.
