Vehicle sales up 1.4% in July

Vehicle sales in the Philippines grew by 1.4% year-on-year in July 2025, with industry leaders confident of meeting full-year growth targets despite weather-related disruptions.

Data from the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) and the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) showed 269,207 units sold from January to July, up from 265,610 in the same period last year.

However, month-on-month sales dipped 2.6% to 38,295 units in July from 40,483 in June.

Commercial vehicles continued to dominate the market, making up 80.03% of total sales at 215,440 units. These included light commercial vehicles (161,388), Asian utility and multi-purpose vehicles (47,452), light-duty trucks and buses (3,948), medium-duty trucks and buses (2,019), and heavy-duty trucks and buses (633). Passenger cars accounted for 53,767 units sold.

Toyota Motor Philippines retained its market lead with a 48.04% share, followed by Mitsubishi Motors Philippines (19%), Nissan Philippines (5.06%), Ford Group Philippines (4.95%), and Suzuki Philippines (4.69%).

CAMPI president Rommel Gutierrez said the steady growth in commercial segments underscores “strong market fundamentals and the agility of our members in navigating short-term challenges.”

“We are optimistic that the momentum will carry forward into the second half of the year,” he added.
