Yesterday’s massive anti-corruption rally 2nd Trillion Peso March and other independent movements at EDSA People Power Monument and Rizal Park spearheaded by 1Sambayanan and multi-sectoral groups was initially estimated to have at least 300,000 participants.
But according to authorities, more than one million rallyists joined the mass action to address and demand transparency and accountability from the perpetrators of corruption in government and private sectors, particularly from the unscrupulous actors in the anomalous and scandalous flood control projects.
Show business, as a segment of society, was represented again like in the September 21, 2025 demonstrations by freedom-loving and good governance seekers.
At the last minute, comic Vice Ganda was awaited at the march but she wasn’t in sight but 2018 Miss Universe Catriona Gray, Elijah Canlas, Ben & Ben actively participated.
Many artistic and cultural groups trooped to either Luneta and the People Power Monument including the EDSA Shrine to reunite with the Filipino people in wishing for a government and a collective life they can all be proud of.
In the forefront of the rallies to enjoin arts and culture as one with national development was the Concerned of the Philippines (CAP).
There were also civil society groups like the Seniors Kontra Kurakot—one of its organizers was the indefatigable Julie Po of Popular Book—that showed their singing and dancing talents during the event.
Incidentally, November 30 marked the 162nd birth anniversary of Andres Bonifacio, the First President of the Republic of the Philippines according to many historians.
