Do you know that the leading man for all seasons Gabby Concepcion sings well and gets bookings as the main feature in unpublicized shows in various parts of the country?
Singing sweetly but vibrantly in special events is how he keeps himself busy in between the TV serials he topbills with the likes of Marian Rivera and Carla Abellana at the Kapuso Network, where the veteran actor is almost signed up exclusively.
We recently saw with our own two eyes how the still oh-so-handsome and ever-in-shape Gabby was swarmed by women fans in a show in Pagbilao, Quezon Province.
The event was billed as “People’s Night” and was recently held at the Pagbilao Covered Court. It was organized by the town mayor herself, Ms Gigi Portes.
While Gabby was crooning the romantic songs “Ikaw Lang ang Aking Mahal,” “Kahit Maputi na Ang Buhok Ko” and “Fly Me the Moon (In Other Words),” women folks couldn’t control their excitement and quickly flocked the stage from various directions to hug, kiss and candidly selfie with him.
Gabby sweetly, warmly allowed all of them to do that even if they actually disrupted his singing.
And, oh, the final thrill was Gabby’s duet with Mayora Portes herself. They sang the very popular and haunting “Bakit Ngayon Ka Lang.”
I was actually the one who booked Gabby in that singing engagement, just like many of his other special gigs in the past. Although I have resumed being a showbiz writer by joining the group The Entertainment & Arts Media (TEAM), I am sustaining my already well-established career as a professional booker of stars and other celebrities, including basketball players who can actually sing vibrantly, engagingly.
