Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, 14th President of the Philippines and now Congresswoman in Pampanga’s 2nd District inducted the new officers and trustees of the Capampangan in Media Inc. (CAMI) last February 6, 2024 in Quezon City.
Arroyo inducted Dionisio “Nonnie” Pelayo as Chairman and Vittorio “Vot” Vitug (Presidential Citation for Excellence Awardee and now News Editor of Business Mirror) as President.
Vice-Chairman Mario C. Garcia, Vice-President Robert Mananquil, Vice-President Gadmer “Mer” Layson and Auditor Enrique also took Oath of Office for CAMI.
Other inductees include Treasurer Abelardo L. Cruz, Trustee Federico “Dik” Pascual Jr., Numeriano “Ner” Dayrit, Romeo Dizon and Rolando “Roly” Eclevia.
Arroyo led the solemn ceremony as she administered the Oath of Office of the new officers as each swear to perform his duties “to adhere to the CAMI objectives of defending the freedom of the press, maintaining the highest ethical standards of our profession, helping upgrade the competence and welfare of Capampangan journalists, and promoting the culture and positive traditions of my cabalen.”
