The Clark Development Corp. (CDC) is pursuing various road projects meant to improve traffic surrounding the Freeport Zone.
CDC Assistant Vice President for Technical Services Teresito Tiotuyco said construction is now ongoing for the P176-million bridge along the Clark-Mabalacat-Angeles Road.
It is set to open to motorists by October this year.
“Aside from this, we will also open a new side gate from the MA. Roxas Highway leading to the Clarkview area along Don Juico Street in Angeles City. It will help ease the vehicular traffic at the Main and Friendship gates of the Freeport,” Tiotuyco added.
Requests were also relayed to CDC to aid in the construction and improvement of some peripheral roads in Barangay Malabanias, Angeles City, which could possibly improve the flow of traffic in the nearby communities in Clark.
Another project the state-run firm is also egging on is the intersection along Mac Arthur Highway connecting the Mabalacat Gate to the Sta. Ines entry and exit points of the North Luzon Expressway.
“Accordingly, all road projects being carried out are ways to help prepare Clark in hosting certain activities when Philippines will be hosting the 50th anniversary of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations in 2017,” he added.
