Pampanga welcomes Xpress

XPRESS Super App, the country’s fast-rising mobility and lifestyle platform, was launched last week at Clark Visitors Center of the Clark Development Corporation making it the very first hail-riding app to serve the thriving region.

Xpress had already fielded several vehicles and are now serving initially inside the Clark Airport, according to Robert Belda, the Xpress head of transport operations and expansion manager who was present during the launch together with other special guests from different regional government agencies.

“We would like to thank the various government officials who paved the way for the Xpress to start serving the region. Clark Airport is jus the initial area of operation but we will be able to start moving around the region soon as we gain available partners here. We are very happy to be a part of the progress of the region and also help in offering solutions to the problem in transportation in all the regions we are now involve with,” Belda said.

Xpress’ foray into the transportation scene in the region is a big boost toward seamless mobility, said LTFRB Region 3 director P/Gen. (Ret.) Richard A. Albano. He cited the booming region really needs the additional transport companies such as Xpress in order to fill the needs of the commuters for reliable and honest public vehicles.

Albano, a former police chief of Quezon City, Xpress is now leading the way in helping the people of Pampanga choose a good transport vehicle that can be relied on in their daily commuting. “Xpress entry here in Pampanga would start a new landscape in mobility. We can now start in doing away with those so-called ‘colorum’ vehicles victimizing our daily commuters with ‘extra rates’ and uninsured vehicles,” said Albano, who added that his children always rely on transport network vehicle services whenever they go to a point-to-point bus station going to and from Manila where they study.

For her part, CDC vice president for security Gen. (Ret) Lina Sarmiento (who celebrated her birthday that day) said Xpress is very much welcome inside the facilities of the Clark Development Corporation, especially at their spanking Clark Airport.

Also present was Clark Airport head of operations Dante Bosanta who also hailed the entry of Xpress in Pampanga. “We are happy to welcome Xpress as one of our partners in serving the thousands of passengers who are now using the Clark Airport as their gateway to and from other countries.” Bosanta said.

An initial 28 Xpress vehicles are now allowed to operate initially inside the Clark Airport. Belda said there are already 10 that are now operating on a daily basis. Soon, Belda expects to add more as application for Xpress franchise are being accepted from interested operators.
