The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), seeking to swiftly address various concerns that hound athletes and coaches, has recently formed a task force that will handle complaints against the national sports associations (NSAs) where they belong.
According to a report published by online sports website spin.ph, PSC commissioner Ramon Fernandez encouraged athletes and coaches to approach the government sports agency for their complaints following the creation of the task force by PSC chairman William Ramirez.
PSC executive director Sannah Frivaldo has been assigned to head the task force.
In a statement, Fernandez said Ramirez created a task force that will look into issues concerning athletes and coaches who have been shortchanged by their respective NSAs.
The creation of the task force came on the heels of a controversy involving the Philippine Karatedo Federation (PKF), which allegedly mishandled funds during a training camp in Europe. The PSC has earlier suspended financial support to the said sports association.
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is currently probing the matter and a report regarding its findings will be completed soon, Fernandez added.
