Young actor and GMA Network contract artist Jak Roberto isn’t one person who would sulk in a corner when disappointment strikes on him nor would he drown in a sea of beers when loneliness sets in.
On the day of his birthday, there was only a virtual toss of wine between Jak and girlfriend Barbie Forteza, a fellow GMA mainstay.
Despite her physical absence in that moment, he remained cool and still fulfilled the promises of the zest in life amidst “aloneness” even after he discovered that Barbie couldn’t be around during his birthday which fell on four days ago.
For what a joy to embrace a loved one on his special day but what could he do? Life had to go on. They were just practical about the whole thing.
Days prior to his red letter day, though, Barbie had sent him a sorry note. “Sayang di kita makakasama sa mismong birthday mo dahil nasa work ako pero babawi ako sayo (It’s regretful I couldn’t be with you on the exact date of your exact birthday because I have a work but I’d make up for it)! I love you!” noted the young actress in their shared communication app Instagram.
What he did was to call his sweetheart up and bring her to a wonderful dinner however pre-birthday celebration.
It was indeed an intimate occasion as if they were the only ones existing in the world. “Thank you so much mahal ko (my love)! Early birthday dinner mo pero ikaw ang nag-treat (but you were the one who treated me)! Hahaha!” she said with laughter.
“Ako na talaga ang Gandang winu-Wolfgang! HAHAHAHA! (I am really the Beauty who was Wllfganged)” she jeered up referring to Wolfgang Steak House where she was treated to a sumptuous dinner.
In her IG, Barbie wished her boyfriend the best in life. “Happy birthday, Mahal (Love)! Stay driven and grounded. Alam kong makukuha mo lahat ng goals mo kase masipag ka, mahal mo yung trabaho mo at higit sa lahat, mabuti kang tao. Tuloy mo lang yan, mahal. Proud na proud ako sayo (I know you’d achieve all your goals because you’re diligent, you love your work and more than them, you are a good person. Just go on, love. I am very proud of you). I love you so much,” she sweetly stated.
In response, Jak penned these messages to his greeters and most especially to Forteza whom he fondly addressed Madam: “Thank you Lord for another year of blessings. Salamat sa lahat ng bumati at babati palang (Thanks to all who have sent their greetings and to those who would yet send them)! And to all my friends na umeffort hehe alam niyo na kung sino kayo (who exerted efforts—giggle—you know who you are! And syempre kay (of course to) Madam! Thank you! I love you all guys!”
