Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC), in partnership with Isuzu Isabela – one of the dealers under by B.M. Domingo Motor Sales Inc. (BMD Motors), extended aid to the displaced families in Abra province after the strong magnitude 7 earthquake. The relief operation was done with the cooperation with the Abra Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO).

The IPC team, headed by Ms. Imelda Bernas , the Administration Division head, and Mr. Robert Carlos, Sales Assistant Division Head, and Isuzu Isabela Operations manager Antonio Benito “Butch” Mijares, traveled to Bangued, Abra to deliver relief goods such as food, water and hygiene kits to 250 families at the nearby evacuation center.
The relief goods were turned over at the Operation Center (OPCEN) warehouse 1 PDRRMO, Calaba, Bangued, Abra where arriving supplies are being sorted out before handing over to the evacuees. Hot meals good for 300 pax were also distributed among evacuees.
According to Cherish Lantano, representative from Provincial Government of Abra, they appreciate donations from private companies which gave assistance to the victims of the earthquake.
IPC’s partner for this relief operation, the BMD Motors, is celebrating their 45th year anniversary this August. Living up to Isuzu’s vision and tagline, BMD Motors is active in organizing CSR activities.
Meanwhile, as part of IPC’s Road to Progress vision, the company also remains committed to help in times of emergency because volunteerism has always been instilled in Isuzu DNA. IPC considers being able to provide aid to communities, especially in times of calamities, their responsibility to the society and country.
