Director Marlo L. Iringan of the Department of the Interior and Local Government-Cordillera Administrative Region (DILG-CAR) awarded P108.966 million to various local government units (LGUs) for the implementation of various development projects in the region.
Iringan released P86.966 million for 19 projects during the recently concluded Unity Gong Relay, and another P22 million for three other projects.
Baguio City officials received the P5-million Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) during the gong relay kick-off. The fund is the city’s incentive for passing the 2015 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) and is programmed for the construction of transportation terminal at the city camp area.
The Ifugao LGU received P16.34 million for the implementation of one project under Sagana at Ligtas na Tubig and three projects under DILG-Bottom-up Budgeting.
Of this amount, P2 million is allocated for the construction of Banao water system in Banaue under the 2015 Sagana at Ligtas na Tubig para sa Lahat (Salintubig). For the BuB projects, the LGU received P5.6 million as the first tranche of the P7-million Urban Water Supply Phase 2 project in Kiangan, Ifugao; another P8.24 million, also the first tranche of the P10.3-million project to expand or improvement of the water system of seven village in Alfonso Lista; and the remaining P500,000 for the construction of Dayandi-Tinangaan water supply in Hungduan.
Meanwhile, the LGU of Balbalan, Kalinga, received the first tranche amounting to P960,000 of the P1.2-million project for the construction of flood control under the DILG-BuB.
The LGU of Apayao also received P26.696 million for three development projects in the area. These are the provision of a potable water supply in Sta. Marcela (P2.696 million); construction of Level I/II water supply in two villages in Luna (P4.8 million); and the opening of Eva-Cadaclan Road under the Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan (Pamana) (P19.2 million as first tranche for the P24 million project.)
The LGU of Abra received P25.88 million for five development projects. Of the said amount, P2 million is earmarked for the construction of the Tamac Level II water system in Villaviciosa under the Salintubig program for the 175 households in the relocation site of the said locality. Another P8.8 million was released as first tranche for the construction Level II water system in Ba-i, Lagayan. The P 4.2-million first tranche is allocated for the provision of a potable water system in Dolores while P280,000 is for the second tranche in the construction of a hand pump-driven deep well in Lagangilang. The remaining P10.6 million is the second tranche of the P53-million project on the road opening from Tubo, Abra to Besao, Mt. Province under Pamana.
Also, the LGU of Bontoc, Mt. Province received a total of P9 million—P3.2 million as first tranche of the BuB water system in Bauko; P4.8 million as first tranche of the Pamana project on the improvement of water works in Kayan West, Tadian; and P1 million for the construction of the Caneo waiting shed in Bontoc.
As the gong went full circle, Benguet province P3.09 million for two BuB projects, namely the provision of potable water supply for six villages in Sablan (P 2.8 million as the first tranche of P3.5 million), and the rehabilitation of waterworks system in Itogon (P280,000 as the second tranche of P1.45 million).
For the additional fund releases, DILG-CAR released P7 million worth of PCF incentives to Benguet for passing the SGLG. The amount is earmarked for the improvement of the Pico–Stockfarm Provincial Road. The LGU of Tayum, Abra received P3 million under the DILG-BuB for the construction of Level I/II water supply in two villages. Penarrubia in Abra received P12 million as the first tranche of the P15-million project to provide potable water systems (Level II) in the villages ofNalamsit, Namarabar, Tattawa, Sta. Rosa, Poblacion and Dumayco.
