ESCA Inc., one of the country’s leading engineering companies, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the MAA Group for a long-term collaboration partnership for Infrastructure Building Information Modeling (BIM).
MAA GROUP Consulting Engineering – Integrated Solutions for Global Impact is a leading Asian multi-disciplinary firm and a service provider focused in the areas of infrastructure, land resources, environment, buildings, and information technology.
Complementing each other’s strength, the partnership will allow both ESCA and MAA to provide engineering design and consultancy for Philippine infrastructure projects by way of an integrated product delivery.
ESCA is the Industry-Academe and Training Partner on BIM of the University of the East, one of the Philippines’ premier engineering schools, while MAA has a linkage with the Southwest Jiaotong University, one of China’s oldest and most prestigious higher education institutions, known for its railway engineering program, as well as its modern education in transportation, mining & metallurgy, and civil engineering.
De Castro is advocating the wider adoption of BIM in the country and is working on the BIM Roadmap Proposal for the Philippines as part of the initiative he started as the 2016 Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE) National President to promote “Transparency and Quality” in the constructed projects and for the Philippines to become a “Center of Excellence for Engineering Services by 2022”.
