Pacquiao-Spence won’t last 12 rounds – Danny Garcia

Former two-division champion Danny Garcia, the last opponent of Errol Spence, Jr., predicts the fight between Manny Pacquiao and Spence will not go the full 12 rounds.

“I think you can stop Pacquiao with a body shot but I think Pacquiao can stop [Spence] too,” Garcia said. “I think it’s a 50/50 fight… I think that fight’s not gonna go the distance.”

Garcia fought Spence after recovering from a car accident in October 2019. Spence won via unanimous decision to retain his IBF and WBC belts.

Garcia said, “He’s the strongest fighter I fought, physically you feel him in front of you.”

However, the 33-year-old thinks Pacquiao can still get the upper hand — especially if the Filipino can come with the brand of boxing he brought against Keith Thurman in July 2019.

“If the Pacman who showed up against Keith Thurman fights then that’s a dangerous Pacquiao,” said Garcia.

If Spence can come out with the aggressiveness he did against Kell Brook in 2017, the American would probably have the advantage, according to Garcia. “The Spence who fought Kell Brook can stop Pacquiao,” he said.
