Alden Richards, Best Actor; Sylvia Sanchez, Best Actress in 36th Star Awards for Movies

In a virtual awarding ceremony, the 36th Star Awards for Movies of the Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) pulled through Sunday night with “Hello, Love, Goodbye” romping away with Best Picture while Alden Richards won Best Actor for the film produced by Star Cinema.

Sylvia Sanchez took home the Best Actress trophy for “Jesusa” while Maricel Laxa brought home the bacon as Best Supporting Actress for “Hello, Love, Goodbye” and Ricky Davao clinched the Best Supporting Actor plum for “FUCCBois.”

Cathy Garcia-Molina won Best Director for “Hello, Love, Goodbye” while Garcia-Molina, Carmi Raymundo and Rona Go got the Best Screenplay Award for the same movie.

Meanwhile, the special awards and the recipients went to: Angie Ferro (Nora Aunor UIirang Artista Lifetime Achievement Award); Elwood Perez (Ulirang Alagad ng Pelikula sa LIkod ng Kamera Lifetime Achievement Award); Joed Serrano (Darling of the Press) and Alden Richards and Kathryn Bernardo (Movie Love Team of the Year in “Hello, Love, Goodbye”).

Star Awards for Movies is an annual awarding of the PMPC which annually recognizes excellence in the movie art although it skipped an awards rite last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
