It took nine long years before young actor Vince Rillon is given the right breaks in his career and once he is offered the opportunity, he makes good at it.
And it pays off.
Since Brillante Ma. Mendoza’s “Captive” where Vince played Paisalin, he waited for the right timing while doing other film and television projects on the side.
Until Brillante gave him one of the lead roles in the teen action adventure in “Resbak,” a story of young petty thieves victimized by their oppressive society and police brutality. It is also a foray into the violence among the youth.
Directed by Mendoza, “Resbak” is officially competing at the 34th Tokyo International Film Festival in Japan on October 30 to November 8, 2021.
The film will directly compete with another Filipino film, “Arisaka” by cult filmmaker Mikhail Red.
“I am honored to be part of ‘Resbak’ especially because it is a big challenge for me to play the lead character,” said Vince in an interview.
“Resbak” also stars Bibeth Orteza, Nash Aguas, Jay Manalo, Kahlil Ramos and Albie Casino.
