Mynt IPO price set at PHP 6.60

Are you always using GCash to transfer money or to receive it, to pay for bills and subscriptions, buy company shares, goods and services, and for other uses?

If yes, that means GCash makes money from you everytime.  Why not reverse the process and make GCash pay you back?  The secret is to participate in the coming initial public offering (IPO) of Mynt, Inc., the company that owns GCash.

It looks like this IPO is a moneymaker.  People have been waiting for it to happen.

Investors can buy into GCash operator Mynt Inc.’s initial public offering (IPO) at P6.60 per share, after the company set its final offer price 34 percent below the earlier P10 ceiling.

On Oct. 1, the company confirmed the price in a notice addressed to the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE).

At P6.60, the final offer price is P3.40 below the earlier ceiling.

COL Financial chief equity strategist April Lynn Tan earlier said investors should not automatically see a lower offer price as a warning sign about the company.

“The market is really so weak, and if you want to raise capital, then, you know, you have to make the stock more attractive, so you price it at a cheaper price,” she said.

The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) closed at 5,738.40 on October 2, 2026, dropping 50.47 points or 0.87 percent for the day.

During the last month, the market index was down by 5.83 percent, and its year-to-date performance is down at 5.20 percent.

Meanwhile, Reuters reported that Mynt plans to sell up to 8.03 billion shares.  They calculated that the firm could raise as much as PHP 60.9 billion if an option to sell up to 1.2 billion additional shares is fully used.

At PHP 53 billion, the deal would rank as the Philippines’ second largest IPO on record after Monde Nissin Corp.’s 2021 listing.  If the additional allotment option is fully exercised, it would become the country’s largest ever IPO.

According to Evelyn Ng, Mynt chief finance officer, “the depth and quality of demand we have seen through this process reflects investor confidence in Mynt’s growth story.”

Meanwhile, April Lynn Tan of COL Financial urged investors to look beyond the price adjustment and examine Mynt’s financial performance, particularly whether its profitability remains on an upward path.

GCash has 41.5 million monthly active users, equivalent to nearly 56 percent of the country’s adult population.

Its ecosystem serves 7.5 million active borrowers and includes 17.9 million savings accounts, 9.2 million investment fund accounts, and about 2 million local stock market accounts.
