Progressive, internationally acclaimed and award-winning Filipino filmmaker Lav Diaz strikes again.

Lav’s latest outing, “Kapag Nawala na ang mga Alon (When the Waves are Gone),” is a hot screener at the currently showing 79th Venice International Film Festival, the oldest film festival in the world and one of the most prestigious event.
“Kapag Nawala na ang mga Alon (When the Waves are Gone)” is a chronicle of the bloody war on drugs during the authoritarian regime of Rodrigo Roa Duterte where thousands were killed by extra-judicial killings known as “tokhang.”
Awarded actors John Lloyd Cruz and Ronnie Lazaro top billed the new masterpiece of Diaz with the able support of equally prizewinning actresses Shamaine Centenera Buencamino and Hazel Orencio.
“Kapag nawala na ang mga Alon” is lined up at the Out of Competition/Fiction category of Venice.
