Twenty-seven women from different parts of the City of Manila are set to compete in the Miss Manila 2015 pageant, with the grand coronation night to be held at the Philippine International Convention Center Plenary Hall at 7 p.m. on June 24.
The women vying to succeed last year’s titleholder Krischelle Halili are Paola Bianca Bagaforo, Christine Balaguer, Chelsie Chea Bautista, Anna Karmina Conanan, Crissia del Atienza, Ckeszhakeren del Rosario, Erica Marie Diaz, Maria Franchesca Diaz, Kaycie Lyn Fajardo, Charlene Fontanilla, Angelica Gorayeb, Dolie Jane Ilao, Jamie Joy Imson, Xyrzsia Rykiel Isidro, Kris Lontoc, Angelica Lopez, Dyan Shane Mag-abo, Maria Regina Malana, Nina Ricci Manangan, Jillean Orbina, Bernadette Paez, Teresa Clarise Amabelle Perez, Katrina Marie Redshaw, Hanna Grace San Gabriel, Vientree Zoe Santiago, Patricia Sherly Santos and Fairy Joy Vera.
In preparation for the grand coronation night, the candidates will go through orientations and trainings in becoming a true beauty queen, as well as an ambassadress of the City of Manila.
The pageant will be hosted by actor Edu Manzano, and will feature performances from Sarah Geronimo, Mark Bautista, Jay-R, Rico Blanco and Ronnie Liang. It will be aired at 10 p.m. of June 28 on the TV5 network.
This year’s pageant will be held in lieu of the annual Araw ng Manila festivities. It aims not only to search for Manila’s most beautiful and smartest woman, but also to espouse a cause. Like last year, proceeds from the pageant would go to the Ospital ng Maynila and the dialysis center of MARE Foundation, a nonprofit institution headed by Dr. Luisa “Loi” Ejercito-Estrada. TMM
