DBM funds NKTI, MSU projects

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) last week released P550 million for the National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI).

In a statement, the DBM said that Secretary Amenah Pangandaman has approved the issuance of Special Allotment Release Orders (SAROs) amounting to P550 million to cover the funding requirement for the Out-Patient Department (OPD) Building of NKTI.

The department explained that the funds will be used for the construction of the OPD building and the additional funding should help ensure that the NKTI carry out better services to people needing medical care.

“President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. keeps saying that no Filipino should be deprived of quality health care.  That’s why we continuously give high regard to our healthcare facilities, more importantly, our specialty hospitals like the NKTI,” Pangandaman said.

Meanwhile, a total of P55.6 million was released to build a school building in Mindanao State University (MSU) in Marawi City.

The SARO was released by DBM for the construction of a three-storey student center in the said educational institution, which was the site of a bombing incident on December 3, 2023 that killed four people.
