Filipino K-pop idol Son Ye-Jin to be feted with retro at 2024 BIFAN

She has been in the Korean film industry for two decades but Filipino K-pop idol Son Ye-jin of the now defunct “Crash Landing on You” will be treated with a tribute by a prestigious film festival in Korea.

The 28th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN) will fete Son with a retrospective of her films that lends her an illustrious name in Korean arts and culture.

Titled “One and Only Son Ye-Jin,” the homage to be held at the Hyundai Department Store Jungdong, Main Building, 9F, Culture Hall on July 6, 2024–the time as of this writing is still To Be Determined (TBD)–is awaited not only by cineastes, moviegoers but by ardent followers of Son as well.

The retro will include screenings of some of ger representative movies, the publication of a booklet commemorating actors, a mega talk session and a photo exhibition.

In the years past, BIFAN had bestowed honors and retrospectives to such Korean legends as Jeon Do-yeon, Jung Woo-sung, Kim Hye-soo, Seol Kyung-gu and Choi Min-sik.

According to BIFAN publicity department, Son, who has been in the spotlight for her stunning dresses on every red carpet, is expected to shine splendidly on the red carpet of this year’s BIFAN.

Some of Ye-Jin’s films to be shown are “The Classic,” “A Moment to Remember,” “The Last Princess,” “The Truth Beneath,” among others.

BIFAN kicks off on July 4 and culminates on July 14, 2024.
