According to Zara, the BYD cars are now dominating the electric car segment in the country with almost 6 out 10 being sold are either Atto3, Dolphin, Han, or Tang. Next week, the another BYD is going to be unveiled to the public.

During the occasion, Zara also announced the appointment of Bob Palanca as the new managing director of the BYD Cars Philippines. Palanca is the former head of the Volkswagen, which is also under the umbrella of the ACMobility.

“BYD continuously aims to reinforce its sustainability brand pillar via meaningful community endeavors that engage with its customers. At the heart of BYD Cars Philippines and ACMobility is changing the way you move by driving sustainability and embracing social responsibility. ACMobility’s distributorship of BYD allows it to enjoy the unique advantages of Ayala Corporation’s sustainability efforts. Through this partnership with Ayala Land, we are also introducing to our customers the value of sustainability that validates their decision to purchase a BYD,” Zara said.

The ACMobility ACRE Movement aims to give back to the environment and contribute to the restoration of the carbon forests of Ayala Land Inc. BYD Cars Philippines’ growing sales numbers, along with those of other ACMobility automotive brands that will join in the near future, will further contribute to the tree-planting initiative. “As the country’s leading real estate developer, Ayala Land is committed to creating sustainable communities where people can thrive. We have dedicated 784 hectares across seven sites from our land bank as carbon forests. These sites absorb carbon dioxide and will help remove greenhouse gas emissions from the atmosphere. BYD, with its zero-tailpipe emission lineup of electric vehicles, matches our own goals, and we are proud to be their partner in driving sustainable mobility,” said Robert S. Lao, the chief sustainability officer of Ayala Land.
