E.R. Ejercito mourns death of wife-actress-politician Maita Sanchez

November 3, 2024 will remain of one of the saddest parts of former Laguna Province governor E.R. Ejercito’s life.

It is day that his beloved wife, actress, erstwhile mayor and vice-mayor of Pagsanjan, Laguna Maita Sanchez died of endometrial cancer at the St. Luke’s Medical Center (SLMDC) in Quezon City at 12:01 AM.

In his Facebook wall, E.R., Emilio Ramon Ejercito in real life, broke the news that “my lovely and beautiful wife, our dearly beloved Mayora Girlie ‘Maita’ Javier-Ejercito of Pagsanjan, Laguna just passed away today November 3….”

According to E.R., Maita was an outstanding multi-awarded locak chief executive from 2010 to 2019 whk brought life, joy and integrity into the significant programs and projects of Pagsanjan which is recognized as the Tourist Capital of Laguna.

Sanchez also served as vice-mayor of Pagsanjan from 2019 to 2022.

Maita was also president of the Laguna Chapter of the League of Mayors in the Philippines (LMP).

Aside from being a politician, Javier-Ejercito was an actress and a favorite leading of Fernando Poe, Jr. In such films as “Kahit Konting Pagtingin Part 2” (1995), “Hagedorn” (1996), “Pagbabalik ng Probinsiyano” (1998), “Ang Dalubhasa”  (2000) and “Batas ng Kansangan” (2003)

Maita’s last film was “Shake, Rattle & Roll Extreme” for Regal Entertainment.

The remains of the actress-politician lie at the Ejercito mansion in Pagsanjan.

E.R. informed that the wake for Maita started Sunday, November 3 until November 9, 2024.

“There will be a daily mass at 7 PM at our home, the Don Porong Ejercito house, a 1912 ancestral mansion in Pagsanjan,” said E.R.

Maita was also survived by her children with Ejercito, namely Eric, Jet, Jerico, Jhulia, Diego and Gabriela.

She was 55.
