What started as a road rage turned out to be a star watching scene between an actor and a crowd of stargazers that included a motorist.
According to Jovicen Dalanon, a Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) traffic enforcer, a motorcycle was hit at the side bar by a pick-up.
The motorist, according to Dalanon, was piqued by the sudden intrusion of the vehicle that halted on the sideways of Quezon Avenue at the corner of EDSA.
“Nainis siyempre ‘yong motorista. Tumigil siya nang matamaan ng pick-up ang kanyang motorsiklo (The motorist got irritated. He halted when the vehicle got his motorcycle scratched,” said Dalanon.
The driver of the pick-up immediately got down from his vehicle.
Lo and behold!
It was actor Mark Herras who came down from his pickup and approached the motorcycle rider.
Dalanon said that Mark initially apologized.
Eventually, a throng had already gathered around the site of the accident.
“Nang makita nila si Mark, nagkatingin lahat ang mga unuusyoso (When they saw Mark, the kibitzers’ eyes were on him),” chuckled Dalanon.
“Pati ‘yong nagasgasan ng motor, napangiti na lang at parang walang nangyari. Na-starstruck ang motorcycle driver (The motorcycle rider just smiled as if there was nothing to worry about),” he added.
At the time, the victim didn’t pursue his complaints against Mark and just simply went on.
“Na-‘StarStruck’ ‘yong biktima (The victim was ‘StarStruck’),” exclaimed Dalanon referring to the GMA Network reality talent search where Herras won and started his showbiz career with Jennylyn Mercado, Yasmin Kurdi and Rainier Castillo.
