With an inspiring new theme “Where Stars Are Born”, the fifth edition of the My Daily Collagen Triathlon returns to Subic Bay on Sunday, March 9 with more than 400 participants expected to surpass last year’s record-breaking turnout.
The My Daily Collagen Triathlon has long served as a launchpad for athletes who have gone on to excel in the triathlon scene.
Oliver Salas, Chief Sales Officer of My Daily Collagen, said that some participants have even described it as a star-studded race.
“For 2025, we’re thrilled to introduce the My Daily Collagen All-Stars Team at the My Daily Collagen Triathlon – a true celebration of every athlete’s unique journey,”said Salas during the press conference in Pandan Restaurant in Quezon City.
“This category isn’t just for elites or celebrities; it’s our way of recognizing the dedication and passion every participant brings to the race. On race day, we believe everyone will shine like a star,” added Salas.
“We’re fully aligned in terms of preparation. All the logistics preparation, the race courses, and then the race kit name venues. So, okay naman.”
“So far, we’re expecting lang na to have more signups. Same thing as last year, so isa sa inaasahan natin.”
Salas also said that some of their participants have gone on to become national athletes.
“We have participants before who are now part of the national triathlon team. So, minsan dito nadi-discover yung mga national triathletes natin. Kasi nga, sobrang all eyes on this event kasi in terms of triathlon.”
Anna Perez, President and Chief Executive Officer of My Daily Collagen, shared the same observation.
“Yung mga athletes natin, dun nila nabe-beat minsan yung mga personal best nila. Yun yung parang graduation nila. After all the trainings that they’ve done, yun yung time na mapapakita nila, masusubukan nila yung sarili nila. Pero at the same time, it’s also, the race is also like a warm-up or like a tune-up race for the bigger events,” said Perez.
Salas and Perez also had some good news for this My Daily Collagen Triathlon.
“There’s a global brand, yung T100 races. It’s a race for professional athletes. And right now, they’re opening for age groupers. So, one of the things for you to qualify in their Singapore event coming this April is you need to submit a swim time qualification or swim time result,”said Salas.
“I just had a meeting with them and we have a go signal na that they’ve been recognizing swim time results na mga athletes natin dito sa My Daily Collagen Triathlon right now.”
“I think it’s a first in the Philippines being recognized by the global brand and My Daily Collagen Triathlon.”
“So, for the local triathletes who’ll be joining the T100 event in Singapore in April, pag-sumali sila sa my Daily Collagen, they can submit their swim time result na dito,” Salas added in an interview with the sports media.
Perez explained why My Daily Collagen chose triathlon.
“Kasi ito yung ina-align namin yung My Daily Collagen sa healthy, balanced lifestyle. And of course, My Daily Collagen also supports yung mga athletes na para sa recovery nila. Of course, syempre ang triathlon, tatlong ano yan, Discipline, swim, bike and run.”
The participants can choose from the categories:
Standard Distance – 1.5KM Swim, 40KM Bike, 10KM Run.
Sprint Distance – 750M Swim, 20KM Bike, 5KM run.
