Dulce recalls last hugs, kisses on Cocoy Laurel

Asia’s Timeless Diva Dulce is still mourning over the untimely demise of iconic television, theater and film actor Victor Laurel.

Victor, also known as Cocoy Laurel, died of cardiac arrest due to multiple organ failure contrary to earlier reports that he died of cancer.

Dulce, in her Facebook wall, gave tribute to Victor who played Jean Valjean in the Repertory Philippines’ production of the musical “Les Miserables.”

“My Jean Valjean Cocoy…R-ejoice I-n P-aradise my dear brother…thank you for inspiring me during the early years of my singing career. I will never forget when you would often tell me ‘Please don’t stop singing…’ when you noticed I was on and off the music scene in the early 80s. Salamat kapatid, mahal kita (Thanks, brother, I love you),” noted Dulce.

It was during the funeral wake for Superstar and National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts Nora Aunor at the Heritage Park and Crematorium in Taguig City that Dulce last saw Victor.

According to Dulce, it was a painful scene to see Cocoy walking with a cane, limping and weak but nonetheless smiling to everyone.
