Four of the Philippines’ most popular bands are rocking select shopping malls in Metro Manila as the featured acts of the second edition of the Sync Sessions, which its organizer said is offering “an audio-digital crossover experience” that has musicians combining “good music and cutting-edge technology using Apple devices.”
Five-piece pop-rock band Mayonnaise is set to entertain shoppers at SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City on October 10, while Sponge Cola will perform at SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City on October 17. They follow Hale, which kickstarted the sessions at TriNoma in Quezon City, and UP Dharma Down, which performed at the Power Plant Mall in Makati City on October 3.
The four bands join Sandwich, Taken By Cars, Kate Torralba, Techy Romantics and The Zombettes, among others, as acts that have performed in the Sync Sessions, which is organized by Power Mac Center.
“After a successful inaugural lineup last year, Sync Sessions went so well that we felt it timely to bring it back this year,” Power Mac Center Marketing Director Joey Alvarez said in a statement.
“With this groundbreaking festival, we hope to bring a whole new perspective in making and enjoying music as we encourage established and aspiring bands to use their Apple devices to create music,” he added.
“Sync Sessions aims to transform the way we perceive, create and transmit music to the rest of the world,” Alvarez said. “We’re also pleased that some of those who attended are starting to create their own musical pieces, encouraging them to experiment with their iPhones and iPads. Power Mac Center is glad to be part of this musical revolution.” TMM
