President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has named new members to the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB), Palace Press Officer Claire Castro confirmed on Friday.
The appointments, signed on December 2, include Nestor Cuartero, Maria Rosario Fabregas, and Ma. Cecilia Villarosa, who will serve until September 30, 2026. They replace outgoing members Jerry Talavera, Cherry Anne Espion, and Jan Marini Cadungog.
The MTRCB, established in 1985 under Presidential Decree 1986, is tasked with reviewing and classifying movies, television programs, and other audiovisual content in the Philippines. Its mandate is to protect the public—especially minors—from inappropriate material while promoting the growth of the local entertainment industry.
