More than 200 nano-entrepreneurs in Quezon City joined “Ayusin ang Pera, Palaguin ang Negosyo,” a financial literacy and entrepreneurship session organized by the Quezon City Small Business Cooperatives Development and Promotions Office (QC-SBCDPO) in partnership with the BDO Foundation at the Amoranto Sports Complex.
The session was facilitated by personal finance coach Chinkee Tan, who shared practical lessons on managing and growing small businesses with humor and real-life examples. Participants, including sari-sari store owners, market vendors, and self-employed individuals, learned essential skills, mindset, and attitudes to strengthen their entrepreneurial ventures.
Mona Celine Marie V. Yap, QC-SBCDPO City Government Department Head III, highlighted that free capacity-building programs are available to local small business owners through partnerships like BDO Foundation. “Katulad po ng mga ganitong pa-event, yung mga financial literacy, marami po tayong training that you can avail. Mayroon po tayong free trainings given by our partners,” she said.
Participants were also briefed on the Quezon City Nano-Enterprise Registration Program, which offers tax and registration fee exemptions for registered nano-businesses. The session was attended by Quezon City District 1 Councilor Charm M. Ferrer, Chairperson of the Committee on Micro, Small, and Medium Business Entrepreneurship Development and Cooperatives, who delivered a message of support.
Through the initiative, BDO Foundation and QC-SBCDPO aim to strengthen financial inclusion and equip nano-entrepreneurs with the knowledge and confidence to make informed business decisions and plan for the future.
