Manila Water’s mainline extension project to increase water service coverage in Antipolo

Manila Water has commenced the commissioning of one of its mainline extension projects in Antipolo City, Rizal, reinforcing its commitment to providing safe, reliable, and sustainable water services to growing communities.

The Mainline Extension of the 150mm Line at Hinapao–Tagbac, Antipolo City aims to deliver new water service connections to residents of Barangay San Jose, particularly the communities of Haustalk and Grand Monaco–Casa Mia.

Construction of the project started in September 2025 and is now at the commissioning stage. Once fully commissioned, the project is expected to enable up to 708 new individual household connections, increasing Manila Water’s total service coverage in the area.

The project involved installing approximately 330 linear meters of 150-millimeter High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) pipelines using the open-cut pipelayingmethod. The new mainline will be supplied by the Maguey Reservoir, which receives treated water from the Calawis Water Treatment Plant—ensuring a dependable and high-quality water source for the community.

This mainline extension reflects Manila Water’s continued efforts to support urban development, improve access to potable water, and enhance the quality of life for residents in Antipolo City.

A Project Information Campaign was conducted in September 2025 across selected barangays in Antipolo City, bringing together Manila Water officials, barangay leaders, homeowners’ associations, and residents. The campaign aimed to build awareness and understanding of Manila Water’s water expansion program, particularly in previously unserved and underserved areas where access to safe and potable water remains limited.

Through open dialogue and community engagement, Manila Water reaffirmed its commitment to expanding critical water infrastructure and delivering reliable services—supporting not only the daily needs of its customers but also the sustainable and long-term development of the communities it serves.
