PNB, JCB launch Platinum credit card

Philippine National Bank (PSE: PNB), in partnership with JCB International Co., Ltd. (JCBI), has introduced the PNB JCB Platinum credit card, designed to match the evolving spending habits of Filipino consumers.

As more users balance digital, in-person, and international transactions, the card supports everyday purchases while offering added convenience for travel and bigger expenses. It features rewards earning, flexible payment options, and access to JCB’s global network, particularly in Japan and other key destinations.

One key feature is its auto-convert installment option, allowing eligible online purchases of at least ₱30,000 to be automatically split into a three-month installment plan without monthly add-on interest. This gives cardholders a flexible way to manage larger expenses.

Users can also earn rewards points through regular spending, with one point for every ₱70 spent and a faster rate of one point for every ₱40 spent on transactions in Japan or billed in Japanese yen. Points may be redeemed as cash credits toward outstanding balances.

Beyond payments, the card offers lifestyle perks such as access to select overseas airport lounges, a multilingual concierge for travel assistance, and curated experiences in Japan.

“We developed this card with our customers’ day-to-day needs in mind—from managing purchases more easily to making the most of travel opportunities,” said Edwin R. Bautista, President and CEO of PNB. “Our continued partnership with JCB allows us to offer features that are practical, accessible, and relevant to how people spend today.”

“Through this partnership, PNB JCB cardholders can look forward to a more rewarding journey,” said Masaki Yokawa, President and CEO of JCBI. “Beyond earning rewards points faster, cardholders will gain access to exclusive JCB privileges—from airport lounge access and curated dining offers to merchant promotions across the country. These benefits reflect our commitment to delivering elevated experiences that combine convenience, prestige, and Japanese hospitality.”

The card targets consumers whose spending spans digital payments, dining, and travel, reflecting broader shifts in consumer behavior. Its launch forms part of PNB’s ongoing effort to provide more seamless and flexible financial solutions.

JCB, Japan’s only international payment brand, continues to expand its presence across Asia and global markets by partnering with financial institutions to deliver secure payment services, especially for travelers.
