The Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII), in partnership with the Anvil Business Club, reaffirmed its commitment to promoting cultural understanding and people-to-people friendship through two advance screenings of the acclaimed Asian film “Dear You,” FFCCCII President Victor Lim announced on July 24 at the Pandesal Forum at Kamuning Bakery Café in Quezon City.
Dear You (Chinese title: 给阿嬷的情书, “A Love Letter to Grandma”) is a 2026 Chinese family drama directed by Lan Hongchun. It follows Xiaowei, a debt-ridden young man who travels to Thailand in search of his grandfather, only to uncover long-hidden family secrets through old remittance letters, or qiaopi. The film explores love, sacrifice, and the overseas Chinese experience. (Source: IMDb)
Praised for its heartfelt storytelling and authentic performances, many by non-professional actors, the film is primarily in the Teochew (Chaoshan) language, with some Mandarin and Thai dialogue. It stars Runqi Zheng, Sitong Li, Yantong Wang, Shaoqing Wu, Xiaohui Wang, Shuguang Zhao, Deru Li, Shuhao Li, Usha Seamkhum, Peisong Fang, and Pengsheng Zheng.
Although primarily in Teochew, a language closely related to the Hokkien spoken by many Filipino Chinese, the film is accompanied by English subtitles.

FFCCCII Board Member Eduardo Cobankiat said Dear You strengthens cultural exchange between the Chinese and Filipino peoples by highlighting their shared heritage, values, and enduring ties.
FFCCCII is sponsoring two advance screenings: August 5, 2026 (Wednesday), 7:00 p.m. at SM Mall of Asia IMAX, and August 8, 2026 (Saturday), 6:30 p.m. at SM North EDSA Cinema 3. The screenings are presented in partnership with the Anvil Business Club, one of more than 170 Filipino Chinese chambers of commerce and business organizations under the Federation, whose membership spans the country from Aparri to Tawi-Tawi.
The screenings aim to promote family values, deepen cultural understanding, and encourage meaningful dialogue through the universal language of cinema.
