The first installment of his intimate concert series comes to the Music Museum on November 6 and 7
Long before Ice Seguerra became known for the quiet power of his voice and guitar, he was a child who loved musicals—and was already performing in them. He returns to the songs and stories that first made him want to sing in Ice Sings! An Intimate Concert Series — Part I: Broadway & Disney, on November 6 and 7, 2026, at the Music Museum.
“My mom introduced me to musicals when I was very young. Lumaki ako watching The Sound of Music and West Side Story,” Seguerra recalls. “I was taking voice lessons at the UP College of Music when I was seven. I sang ‘Part of Your World’ from The Little Mermaid at my recital. Pang-Disney princess ang song choice ko noon!” he adds with a laugh.
His first stage production was Little Shop of Horrors with Repertory Philippines. His second was The Wiz, also with Repertory Philippines, in which he played Dorothy. As he grew older, Seguerra continued performing in musical theatre, appearing in productions including The Rocky Horror Show, Avenue Q, and Rock of Ages.
For Seguerra, musical theatre has always brought two parts of his artistry together: acting and singing.
“I started as a performer, and music became such an important part of my life. But musical theatre has always been special to me because I get to do both,” he says. “Hindi lang siya tungkol sa pagkanta. You have to know what the character wants, what the song means, and why that moment matters.”
That instinct remains at the heart of Ice Sings! since Seguerra has built a career making songs feel deeply personal through the way he inhabits a lyric and invites an audience into its story.
For its first live installment, he turns to songs from Broadway musicals and Disney films: music filled with characters searching for love, courage, belonging, and the freedom to become themselves. These may be songs audiences already know, but the concert offers a chance to hear them through Seguerra’s own voice and perspective.
“These songs shaped me growing up—as a singer, an actor, and a person,” Seguerra says. “I’m excited to sing them now as the person I’ve become.”
