The World Premieres Film Festival (WPFF) Philippines has introduced an exciting new incentive for Filipino directors to submit their films to the festival, which will begin in late June.
Besides foreign films, the festival will also celebrate national filmmaking talent, specifically in the Filipino New Cinema section, which will present poignant Filipino films to an international audience.
This year, the festival will grant P50,000 in cash to a maximum of eight Filipino films selected as finalists by the festival committee.
The eight films will also be in the running for awards, including Best Picture (first and second place), Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Musical Score, Best Sound Engineering, Best Production Design, Best Performances, and Best Supporting Roles.
All Filipino filmmakers wishing to enter the festival can register and submit their entry forms online at www.wpff.ph. The deadline for submissions is May 6. The WPFF will be held from June 29 to July 10.
