Superheroes, villains work to save the world in ‘DC’s Legends of Tomorrow’

When heroes are no longer enough to save the Earth from evildoers, who would be humanity’s last hope?

The Warner TV cable network answers that question with its newest superhero series DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, which assembles some of the world’s superpowered warriors for mankind’s ultimate battle.

A sister series to Warner TV’s popular DC shows The Flash and Arrow, the 16-episode DC’s Legends of Tomorrow—which premiered on the network last Friday—opens in 2116, when the immortal Vandal Savage (Casper Crump) is on the verge of dominating the world through total chaos and destruction.

This pushes time-traveling rogue Time Master Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) to take matters into his own hands and travel 150 years into the past—to 2016—to form a team of carefully selected heroes and villains to stop Savage and save the world.

These superpowered beings—recurring characters from The Flash and Arrow, as well as from the DC Comics universe—are billionaire inventor Ray Palmer, a.k.a. The Atom (Brandon Routh), who created an exosuit with the power to shrink himself to microscopic size; assasin Sara Lance, alias the White Canary (Caity Lotz); career criminals Leonard Snart, a.k.a. Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), and Mick Rory, alias Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell); Prof. Martin Stein (Emmy nominee Victor Garber) and young mechanic Jefferson “Jax” Jackson (Franz Drameh), who, together, form the metahuman Firestorm; and Kendra Saunders, a.k.a. Hawkgirl (Ciara Renée), and Carter Hall, alias Hawkman (Falk Hentschel), who share a deeper connection with Savage that endured through millenia.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow airs on Fridays at 9 p.m. on Warner TV (SKYcable channel 77, SKYcable HD channel 197, Cignal HD channel 119, Destiny Cable channels 77 [digital] and 80 [analog], and Cable Link channel 30).

Sister shows iZombie and Arrow air on Wednesdays and Thursdays, respectively, at 9 p.m.
